Changing to LED can fight global warming, one bulb at a time

Lightning contributes for nearly 6% of global CO 2  greenhouse gas emissions, so scientists stress on making changes that can make our lighting more energy efficient. It’s time to raise awareness of how to find and use technologies to save energy and reduce CO 2 emissions. Of the many technologies currently available, the most promising and affordable are light-emitting diodes (LEDs). LEDs are highly efficient and could reduce the world's electricity consumption in a big way.  Many articles have been written about different benefits of switching to LED lights but still a large percentage of people have not adopted LED yet.  LED is considered a great technology in saving our power bills and a terrific way to fight climate change. Estimates from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA)  have indicated slower adoption to LED than expected. With researchers hypothising whether this is due to ignorance, over-reliance on traditional light bulbs or cost.
